Giving new life to an old laptop
I had an old laptop laying around, and I was wondering what could I do with it. How could I use it for something useful instead of throwing it in the SER-waste? I already had some personal projects going on, but with very limited free-tier cloud computing power and storage. On the laptop I had 500 GB of empty storage, 4 core Intel Pentium CPU and 8 GB of RAM to work with. This bad boy was about to get a new life of it’s own! I emptied it of Windows 8, and of something I don’t know, that was slowing the laptop down. I installed Ubuntu LTS-Server on a USB and booted it on the laptop. Everything went smooth as butter. Suddenly the laptop didn’t lag anymore. I already had Dockerized some of my personal projects such as Happy Pour App and this website, you are now reading this from.
